Stepping on stitches

The tapestry needles are fine, but the hand sewing needles are a mishmash – I’ve lost track of how long things have been in circulation and what they’ve been used on. Best to chuck whatever I can’t identify and stick to the Tulip and Bohin for a while.

Schnikes. Having the right needle is a relief. No flex, even with 4 or 5 stitches loaded. The 10 is a bit short, but 9s will be here soon. Was reminiscent of practicing line shading, but with greater risk of bloodshed.

Tried to keep the stitches small, but the distance between them was more than double the stitch length. Worked to consistent, but then realized I just increased the length of the topload to match the (still too long) underload. Need to balance the equation. Good thing I have another dozen practice blocks.
