The owl is together, with a few pain points. Nothing overly noticeable, but nothing you can unsee either.
Should have trimmed down the seam allowance at the point of the lowest wing segment. The resultant end is too chunky and doesn’t quite lie flat. Quilting will help, but it’s still annoying.
As is the misalignment of the two main wing sections. The mottled greys came together perfectly, but the speckled are off almost a 1/4″, pushing the lower portion of the wing out of alignment. I thought about restitching the join, but it would be simpler to let out the lower seam allowance, trim the paper, and re-baste.
Intentions aside, it’s not like I ever reuse the pattern pieces. Popping the glue is going to make a mess of at least a dozen regardless, and the rest will be bent and folded at weird angles. Odds are that if I want to make another owl, I’ll order the pattern again or design my own.
