Filled in the last corner with only one potential fabric-to-fabric match. Fortunately the owl’s hindquarters are blocking my blunder. I really need to quit cutting it so close. Based on the last two black-and-blues, next time pulls n+1 fabrics where n is the number of sides of the primary shape.
Separating the fore & backgrounds was probably not my smartest move ever. Most of the edges married up, but the left edge, like the rear wing section, had frigid feet. Opened up both, trimmed the pattern to fit, and re-basted the seam allowance. The point on the left edge ended up more blunted than I’d like, but the lower wing section came together pretty perfectly. Which brings it back to the final corner once more.
Nothing left but to stitch the final seam and pull the papers. Had to close in a couple of gaps, but nothing too severe. Shredded more seam allowance than I care to admit pulling the papers, but still preferable to thread basting.
