Debated binding types, but in the end felt like using my tape maker. Managed to only over cut the binding by one WOF; should really start doing the math instead of eyeballing it. Could say that about most of this one, really. Last one was hand stitched, so this one is full machine stitching. Not my favorite for the finished binding, but certainly faster.
The corners are always an adventure – will have to adjust by hand once it’s washed and dried. It’s fine for what it is, but wobbly. Probably should have run a second attachment line at 1/2″ and used the tape ledge. Next time. This one is done. Wobbles and all.
While I can’t unsee the misalignment with the striped portion on the back, it could be cool exaggerated out. Like a lot. Maybe full wonky off kilter stripe piecing with an on point overlay. Could be an interesting improv project – askew angles on a grid base. Like trying to plot chaos on two axes. That plural tense has not gotten less weird. And Makers starts in two days; probably not the best moment for new projects. More new projects. Not giving up my owl.
